Triple Play Cards 'n' Layout

Instructions for Cards
(layout instructions are below the cards)
I do love the CTMH creations, but I'm just not a huge mini-album girl.  So, I had to come up with another super cute option for the Triple Play kit.  I created the Hollyhock one as CTMH intended because I always want a "correct" version to show customers.  However, for the Indian Corn Blue set, I decided to make a cute card gift set.  Follow along with the pictures and instructions below to make your own!

You'll need all the regular supplies in your Triple Play kit plus two scrap pieces of Colonial White cardstock that measure 3" x 5 1/4" and 6 - 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" card bases.  Stamp all of the images as directed in the kit instructions.  For the CW cardstock, score both pieces of cardstock the same.  On the 5 1/4" side score at 1/2" and at 4 3/4".  On the 3" side, score at 2".  Fold and cut out corners as shown below.  You'll see in my photo below that I've also added a strong adhesive to the flaps.  I created these pockets as an envelope style for ease of creation and for customers to duplicate simply.
Fold up the cardstock to make the envelope pocket and adhere it to the mini-album cardstock base as shown below.  You'll want to adhere the pieces to the base before you thread any ribbon through the holes.
From the remaining two sheets of cardstock that are supposed to be the mini album pages, cut 6 - 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" pieces to make the card fronts.  I attached these to some leftover card bases that I cut down.  You can either make bases like I did, or create your own from coordinating cardstock.
Now, grab your sheet of stamped die cuts and embellish away!
You'll see that I also inked the edges of my cards.
When you're done, pop them into the pockets and you've got a cute little set of cards.
If you've got the envelopes, throw those in there too - they'll fit!  :)
For the holes along the spine, I took 3 small pieces of the ribbon, threaded them through and tied them in square knots.  It makes a cute finish and hides the holes that wouldn't normally be there for a project like this.

Here's three "pretty" photos of the finished project.
You may have seen these on the bboards if you are a fellow CTMH sista.

Have fun creating!
Really?  Yep!  Check it out below.  I've included dimensions so you know how to cut up your Triple Play sheets.  Stamp all of the die cuts as instructed in the how-to flyer and then follow me for the rest.  Keep in mind that I did keep this simple so customers can easily duplicate this project without a lot of extra supplies or time.  Have fun!
My title is "Boo" because I'll be using this layout for my sister-in-law's new yorkie puppy.  We visited her this past weekend and she's just so adorable!  They named her Boo after the little girl in Monster's Inc.

This photo shows the hidden journaling tabs pulled out.  I stamped "Love This" on the upper one and "Pure Delight" on the lower one.  They hide behind photo mats that are popped with foam tape.
To create this layout, you'll need to add one sheet of background cardstock.  I decided to use Desert Sand.  I also grabbed some left over Colonial White cardstock scraps and made photo mats so you can see where to put photos.  Lastly, I recommend having some foam tape to pop the two smaller photos so the hidden journaling pieces can be slid out easier.  You'll notice in the detail photos below that I've also popped some of the flowers.  Yes, I'm addicted to dimension.  :)

Here are some close ups of the page.  The title was made using the Color Ready Alphabets - Oxford.  I sponged Sunset ink on them and edged them in Desert Sand.
The larger photo mats are cut at 6" and the mats are sized to hold a 3.5x5" photo.  The journaling spot in the photo below is also cut from the Triple Play sheets and is 3x4".

The smaller mats are cut at 3.5x3.5" and are sized to hold a 3x3" photo.

To put this in a page protector, just slide it in and mark with a white board (non-permanent) marker where the journaling should slide out through the plastic.  Remove your layout and using a protective backing, cut the protector at your markings with a craft knife.  Slide your layout back in and tuck the two ribbon pull tabs out through the plastic.  Ta-da!  Instant interactive layout.

Have fun creating,
